Hello from Your Seattle Newborn and Family Photographer

We have recently discovered a beautiful studio in north Seattle and I am so excited to offer this studio option for my families. The studio is available year round and is perfect for milestone photos, cake smash photos, winter family photos, if you missed the fall leaves, and branding/headshots. I will also plan to host select mini session days at the studio to make photographing you and your family as quick and painless as possible ;).

Black and white images are usually some of my absolute favorite images from a shoot. I love the simplicity of a clean, crisp black and white photo and the ease with which it can up the impact of emotion in an interaction. Here is why I always provide some black and white images to my clients.

One of my favorite ways to wrap up a photo session is with some fun silhouettes. I usually save these for last because, if the sky cooperates, we can get some awesome sunset colors. Plus, if your kids are near their limit for photo taking, we don't have to worry about goofy faces and it's a good way to work out any extra wiggles before getting back in the car. Here are some ideas to help you create the best shapes as you get ready to twirl, jump, and play while we capture some classic silhouettes for your wall!

If you're considering scheduling a family photo shoot, you may have come across the term "lifestyle" family photos in your search for the perfect family photographer. This is a newly popular concept in the photography industry and the term may not be widely known. So, what does it mean?

Whatever your style, do you! Family photos should represent you and your family just the way you are today. So, please, don't feel like you need to go and do all the things that are on this list. That being said, here are a few common considerations that have been important to some of my families. If any of these items are not important to you, then don't worry about it (except #5, lol, I'll probably ask you about that one either way =) ).
